Back to basics: the essentials for the transition into fall
Posted by Lena Bruggeman on
It’s almost that time again… The days are getting shorter and temperatures are slowly dropping. That means it’s time to update your little one’s wardrobe!
But what do you really need for that in-between season? We’ve listed the must-haves for you.
1. Layers, layers, layers
Autumn weather can be unpredictable. One day the sun is shining, the next it's cold and rainy. That’s why layering is key — it allows you to easily adapt your little one’s outfit to the changing temperatures.
- Base layer: Start with a soft, breathable base made from cotton. Think long-sleeve bodysuits, leggings, and T-shirts.
- Middle layer: Add warmth with a cosy sweater, cardigan or fleece jacket.
- Outer layer: A warm coat is a must for those chilly autumn mornings.
Example:
Base layer → Middle layer → Outer layer
2. Long-sleeve T-shirts
A good basic goes a long way. Our long-sleeve tees are super comfy and perfect for layering — under a sweater, a pinafore or cute dungarees.
Must-have: a few cotton pieces. Soft, stretchy and gentle on your little one’s skin.
3. Pleated skirts & cool trousers
Autumn doesn’t have to mean dull and grey. A pleated navy skirt or a girly pink one with tights underneath? Yes please! And for the boys, we’ve got plenty of cool trousers in soft jersey or cotton — extra comfy for little adventurers.
